I’ve been trying to funnel some energy into our bedroom. This is nothing new. I’m always funneling energy into decorating our home. It’s my obsession hobby. Our room has gone through some transformations. Many things have been on (The Mister’s) To Blog About list. We made our headboard, repainted the room and tried several different curtain options. Next week, I’ll post some of what has happened in our bedroom.

That’s what she said.

Part of my issue with decorating our home can be that I like so much stuff. I become paralyzed by the options. I can tell and help you with what you should do all day. However, for myself it can be difficult. I see too much and have too many ideas. I want to try too many things. I’ve heard this is common with actual decorators or people who get sucked into decor. It makes me feel much better that occasionally Miles Redd doesn’t know what the f he’s doing either in his home.

Currently, global or world textiles are becoming a trend. I’m seeing it a lot in bedding, soft goods and accessories. Just in the past three weeks I’ve bought two pairs of shoes that would fall under this category. I believe part of this, especially in soft goods, is the evolution of people’s love of ikat. Here are some bedrooms with global textile bedding.

West Elm is offering hand-embroidered quilts from India. They all made from recycled saris and vary in size and color.

I bought a handmade Indian quilt from Spruce, a boutique in Brentwood. This is it.

I had a $15 credit and it still cost me $150. Yeah. Now, I realize comforters and other pieces of bedding are in this range and the West Elm blankets are smaller and $99. Still, I feel guilty. My plan was to bring it home and test it in the space. I didn’t know that linens were nonreturnable or I frankly probably wouldn’t have purchased it. You should make me feel better and tell me how pretty it is in the comments.

I do really like the black background and the mixture of blue, green, pink and yellow. I have a plan of attack on using it. Unfortunately, that plan included some curtains from IKEA but the one I was near this week was going through a renovation and had only 3 curtains in the marketplace. It was weird. So, as usual, I’m working on it and this holiday weekend is just the right time for me to do so.
